What are the types of kitchen faucets?

November 05, 2022

A proper kitchen sink can bring convenience to our lives. Similarly, as the best partner for the kitchen sink, kitchen faucets have several types. Each one offers a different experience.

1-- Single-handle faucet

The single-handle faucet adjusts the temperature by operating a lever, moving it left and right to draw hot or cold water. Additionally, one can control the water pressure by manipulating the same lever up or down. This simple design makes it the first choice for many homes.

However, the disadvantage of a single-handle faucet is that it is difficult to set an accurate temperature, and it takes more time to reach the desired water temperature.

2-- Double-handle faucet

This faucet has a dual handle design, with separate handles for cold and hot water, enabling precise temperature control through different temperature handles. But two-handle faucets are more difficult to install than single-handle faucets.

3-- Touch-on Kitchen Faucet

Touch-on faucets dispense water by physical touch, and they respond to quick touches rather than prolonged touches or rubs. They tend to reduce the spread of dirt, grime and bacteria compared to traditional faucets.

4-- Touchless Kitchen Faucets

Touchless faucets are activated using sensors, and some of the latest designs even offer voice activation, making it easier for dirty hands to use the sink. They're truly hands-free and save water by shutting off quickly even if you can't use your hands.

5-- Pull-Out Kitchen Faucets

Pull-out faucets make it easier to spray things outside of the kitchen sink, which can make cleaning your countertop easier. The hoses provide more control and can be maneuvered into any position.

6-- Pull-Down Kitchen Faucets

A pull-down faucet will have a high arc with a shorter sprayer hose since it only sprays downward. Pull-down faucets are preferable for  larger and deeper sinks. The hoses are less prone to kinks and retraction issues.

7-- Separate Spray Faucet

A separate spray faucet uses a separate handle with a trigger that will avert the water flow from the primary faucet, to the spray nozzle. The handle will be linked to the water supply that comes from a regular tap. When you turn on the normal tap, the spray nozzle will be active as water can be quickly rerouted to the tap without problems.

8-- Pot Filler Faucet

Pot-filler faucet is an adjustable faucet installed above a stove that pours cold water directly into large pots and pans. These faucets are made of a number of bendable pipes that can be pushed against the wall while cooking to keep them out of the way and then extend from the wall as needed.
